QUEEN ELIZABETH’S PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

FORDHAM & EIGHT ASH GREEN

THURSDAY 2ND to SUNDAY 5TH JUNE 2022

 

Join us to celebrate our Queen’s 70 years of faith and service.

 

Thursday 2nd June

12noon: The Eight Ash Green Parish Council will plant a tree on the heath as part of the Queen’s green canopy event.

9.45pm: Beacons will be lit across the UK and throughout the commonwealth, including a beacon on Fordham Heath. The event starts at 8.30pm with pipers, choir and brass band performing specially composed pieces. The band will play in The Cricketers marquee from 7.30pm.

Saturday 4th June

10am – 4pm: Fordham village celebration at the John Owen Barn and on the field. Hog roast – Live music – stalls – entertainment – games – bar.

All profits to the Essex Air Ambulance,
Royal Legion and other local charities.

3pm: Afternoon tea served at the Eight Ash Green village hall.

7pm: 50s style dance in a marque at the Cricketeers pub in Eight Ash Green. Hog roast available for purchase, DJ playing 50s style music. Everyone attending expected to dress up in 50s clothing for the occasion. Only for residents of the village, tickets initially limited to two per household.

 

Jubilee Sunday 5th June

Two services of thanksgiving for the Queen’s lifetime of service.

10am: Fordham Church

11.30am: Eight Ash Green Church

 

12noon: The Big Picnic on Fordham Heath

Bring a picnic, enjoy a specially arranged cricket match with 50s music, bunting and bouncy castle. Cricket coaching for youngsters and women’s softball. Band in the marquee at the Cricketers
