DESCRIPTION:Sunday 27th September 10am -11:15am\nExplore Sunday  (Fordham Church)\nTitle: Tales of the Unexpected: Jesus Chooses the Wrong Person\nPreacher: Rev’d Aella Gage\nTeaching Passage: Luke 19:1-10\nNoticesheet: 27th September 2026\nSeries:  Explore Sundays \nOnline Church: Watch\n (This will be available from 10:00am on Sunday) \n \n \n Online Church\n \n \nOften in news headlines or on social media we hear stories about the wrong kind of people being marginalised or the wrong kind of people moving into the neighbourhood or being allowed into the UK. This can worry us\, sometimes anger us and often dishearten us as people seem so divided. But there is hope. We would love to invite you to join us at church as we explore the question\, ‘What happened when the wrong person met Jesus?  This story is full of surprises and a love so out of this world it can transform lives\, families\, whole communities\, still today. So turn off that news and join us for some hope\, friendship and great coffee. Everyone is welcome! \nDuring the service the All Saints Club will be running groups for 4-16 year olds and a play creche will be available with a livestream of the service\, for parents to use with 0 – 3s. \nLuke 19:1-10\n\n\n\n\nBible Quote\n\n\n19:1 Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. \n19:2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. \n19:3 He wanted to see who Jesus was\, but being a short man he could not\, because of the crowd. \n19:4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him\, since Jesus was coming that way. \n19:5 When Jesus reached the spot\, he looked up and said to him\, "Zacchaeus\, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." \n\n19:6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. \n19:7 All the people saw this and began to mutter\, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' " \n19:8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord\, "Look\, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor\, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything\, I will pay back four times the amount." \n19:9 Jesus said to him\, "Today salvation has come to this house\, because this man\, too\, is a son of Abraham. \n19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." \n\n\n\n
